The Polar Bear's "Top Tips" - Melbourne Cup Day

Race One – Not enough form, I recommend not betting.

Race Two – Nothing sticks out, I recommend not betting.

Race Three – #16 Perfect Pecs – Each Way $7.50 & 2.60.  2 length 5th verses top Cup contenders at Geelong.  Up and coming 4 year old with a light weight, well drawn and odds shortening.

Race Four – Through a dart.  Maybe Hinemoa although drifting in the betting.

Race Five – #5 African Pulse - Place $1.28.  Narrowly beaten last time at Flemington.  Honest and shortening.  Love Karuta but too short for debut straight run.

Race Six – Few chances.  #2 Combat Kitty - Down from Sydney, with Trainer quietly bullish.  The inform D Oliver on board.  Place $1.60.

Race Seven – Tough race with lots of chances, half with no local form to speak of.  Ill be taking Dunaden just above Niwot.  Both shortening strongly in the market.  $7 and $10.

Race Eight – Lone Command $1.60 Place.  Heavily backed favourite.  Well drawn, fourth run in and Darren Beadman onboard.  Like Lamasery as well.

Race Nine – Lots of chances – Perturbo $3.20 a place.  Loves the Flemington straight.  Fitter now 2nd up.

Race Ten – #14 Too Deadly - $7 & $2.50.  Finished not too far behind Testa My Patience.   Has been unlucky of late, well drawn and fitter 3rd up. Should give you a good site.
